Way Too Cool 2012 : The 23rd annual Way Too Cool 50K race was held March 10 2012 in Cool. Gary Gellin of Menlo Park covered the 31 mile course in 3:27:43. Tyler Stewart of Novato won the woman's side with a new woman's course record of 3:49:37. Stewart was ninth overall. Eighteen runners finished the race in under four hours, and 200 runners ran their first ultra marathon in this years Way Too Cool.

American River 50 : New Zealand runner Vajin Armstrong running his first ultra marathon in America took first place in the American River 50 Endurance Run April 5th. Armstrong's time was 5:53:32. Finishing second was 47 year old Rich Hanna of Sacramento with a time of 6:05:50, and third place finisher Josh Rydman of Rocklin finished with a time of 6:10:28. Leading the women and repeating her 2011 AR 50 womens victory was Ellie Greenwood of Canada with a time of 6:18:47. Greenwood was 6th overall.

2012 Western States 100 : The 2012 Western States 100 Endurance Run on June 23 was a great race run in near perfect conditions. Both men and women's course records were set. Tim Olson of Ashland OR set a new men's record and first sub-fifteen hour time of 14:46:44. Ellie Greenwood of Canada took down a Ann Trason's 18 year old women's record with a time of 16:47:19. It was a great run for all the finishers.

Tevis 2012 : The 57th Tevis Cup 100 mile endurance ride took place on August 4 2012. Garrett Ford of Durango Colorado finished first followed by his wife Lisa Ford.
