2009 Auburn Downtown Criterium : The 2009 Auburn Downtown Criterium took place on May 24th on a hilly course through Downtown Auburn. A good rider turnout and positive feedback on the challenging course will make this race an annual event. The approximately one mile course started downtown and headed away from town to circle back through three ninety degree turns and back through town. Spectators lined the streets cheering on their favorite riders.

Auburn Triathlon 2009 : The 2009 Auburn Triathlon was held in the Auburn Ca. area with great success. Race Director Brad Kearns put on four events; The World's Toughest Half, The Auburn International Duathlon, The Auburn International Tri, and The Auburn Sprint Tri. Well attended, the races were all exciting and excellent as Auburn Ca. further defines itself as the Endurance Capital of the World. Hosting many world class endurance events throughout the year is fast becoming Auburn's trademark.

Western States Endurance Run 2009 : The 35 running of the Western States Endurance Run from Squaw Valley to Auburn California was held June 27, 2009. The 100 mile run covers a historic trail through canyons and crosses rivers. Over 400 runners participate in a lottery for a chance to run the course. Hal Koerner of Ashland Oregon was the overall winner with time of 16:24:55 and Anita Ortiz was the women's winner and finished ninth overall with a time of 18:24:18. The run is full of excitement as runners tackle the grueling course in 100 degree heat during the day.

2009 Nevada City Classic Bike Race : Exciting 49th running of the Nevada City Classic Bike Races on the historic streets on Nevada City was held on June 21, 2009. Surprise late entry of biking legend Lance Armstrong, and his Tour de France Astana teamates Levi Leipheimer, and Chris Horner made the event even more exciting.

2009 Tevis 100 Endurance Ride : The 2009 Tevis Endurance 100 Ride was held August 1, 2009, after a one year rest because of fires in the area last year. Sarah Engsberg of Fairburn, Ga., won the 54th annual historic ride. The 100 mile course left Robie Park near Truckee, Ca., at 5:15am Saturday morning and Engsberg finished about seventeen hours later in Auburn riding K-Zar Emmanuel. It was a first try at Tevis for Engsberg.
